Two minutes is all it takes... Chapter seven
Leo sat at the table with his friends, Farouk, Melody and Gabriel in their usual joint, the DAYW. This time with more drinks than they had the last time and also more ladies around them.
"Oga Elf na wa for you o!" Gabriel said already half drunk.
"Wetin I do you again?" Leo asked sipping his bottle of stout.
"You just pack commit from neighbourhood like that, you no even inform us wey dey the street with you. Na so we come your house yesterday come dey knock like people wey no get sense, na that your neighbor come tell us say you no dey live for there again" Gabriel answered.
"Ah! No vex o! e never too tay when I pack commot from there, I be wan even tell una that day but some kind thing just take my time, and I be no wan disturb una for work" Leo said.
"Which work?" Melody asked and then pointed at Gabriel "na the teaching wey em dey do you dey call work?".
"Wetin that one come mean now?" Gabriel asked infuriated.
"You no understand pidgin again?" she asked yelling.
"Make una calm down" Farouk said trying to mediate.
"Me I no understand you again o!" Gabriel said.
Melody ignored his statement and returned her attention to the bottle of Heineken in front of her.
"Eh Leo I hear say your career don pick" Farouk said.
"Yes o! Baba God don answer my prayer, shey you don hear my track?" he asked.
"For where? Me wey no get anything for my house, you no know how I dey live again abi?" Farouk asked.
"I never forget na, no worry I go sort you out very soon" Leo said.
"Na so!" Melody said hailing him.
"Elf, how far you go sort us out sef abi?" Gabriel asked.
"Yes na, I no fit leave my people behind na" Leo said taking another sip of his drink.
"My man! Na only you be boss" Gabriel said putting both hands in the air.
"See em mouth, na money dey shack you like this" Melody said mocking him.
"Come wetin be your problem this woman?" Gabriel asked.
Melody hissed and turn facing Leo, "Leo my dear, what about that your woman? You go still go collect am?" She asked.
"Which woman be that?"Gabriel asked.
"Wetin concern you with this one wey we dey talk?" Melody asked.
"Na so them teach you to dey answer questions for your papa house?" Gabriel asked.
"Inside me and you now, who dey answer each other?" She asked.
Gabriel stood up annoyed bashing his hand in the table, "You don dey pass your boundary o!".
"Guy calm down jare, you no know say na woman she be?" Farouk said mediating once more.
"Na Farouk dey save you for here if not" Gabriel said calming down as he returned to his seat.
"If not wetin go happen?" she asked.
"Melody!" Farouk cautioned.
"No worry, wetin you dey find you go see am for house" Gabriel said.
"No be the same thing you talk last time, I still dey wait for the time wey you go show me the man wey you dey claim sey you be" Melody said.
"No worry, make you no beg me make I stop again say e dey pain you o!" Gabriel said grinning.
"Abeg! Sir Leo answer me jare" Melody said.
Leo stared at his bottle of stout for a few minutes before saying, "I no need am again, I don see one wey better pass am".
"Oya now, you talk well, she no worth you" Gabriel said with a wider grin on his face.
Farouk turned his attention towards Leo, with a stern look asked, "na that Igbo girl wey I see for your house that time you dey talk about?".
Leo nodded with a smile on his face.
"You don dey score already?" Melody asked.
"Which one you dey ask again" Gabriel asked.
Melody rolled her eyes and said, "you better leave me o!".
"Calm down" Leo said caressing the bottle on the table, "I never do anything yet and I never ask am if she dey interested".
"Why she no go dey interested, person wey don dey come your house already" Gabriel said.
"Na true talk sha" Farouk agreed.
"No worry, if she no gree for you, I get plenty Igbo girls wey you go like" Melody said.
"No yawa, but no be that one we come for, make we dey enjoy ourselves" Leo said waving over the waitress.
"Oga boss!" Gabriel hailed.
