It's the thought that counts... Chapter eight

Car accident

Reality soon set back in as Luci snapped his fingers returning the flow of time back to its previous course. Mayowa still sitting beside her unconscious mother, her dad still fast asleep and Bola stood staring at his watch.

"Mayo I have to go now" he said pointing at his watch "I told my boss I would be at work before ten and it's past nine now".

"It's okay" Mayowa said smiling.

"Call me if anything changes, okay?".

"Okay" Mayowa said nodding her head.

He reached in and planted a soft kiss on her forehead before picking up his phone and headed for the door.

"That went rather well" Luci said, he had been watching from the bedside where he sat with his tea cup in hand.

Mayowa turned her attention towards Luci's cup and asked, "Why do you always have a cup of tea with you every single time?".

"Tea is calming but this isn't normal tea" he said dipping his finger into the cup and then pointed it at her, "See?".

"What's that?" she asked seeing the reddish fluid dripping from his index finger.

"This is the highest quality tea a being like me could drink. Blood drained from the sorrow and pain of man with a little bit of greed added to the mix" He said inhaling the vapor of the tea.

"What!?" she yelled.

"Shhh!!! This isn't your blood dear one, it's been collected by my minions over the ages and it still is" he said grinning.

"That's disgusting" she said.

"Not for me, it isn't. Now that's not important at the moment" he said standing up from the bedside, he walked towards the window and stared through it.

"What's got your attention?" she asked curious.

"Come Look at our bunny" he said pointing out the window at Bola, who had just left the hospital premises and was about crossing the lane.

Mayowa turned her eyes to the direction he had pointed at and her smile turned into a huge frown. Before her stood Bola and Chioma holding hands like new lovers, the sight of them caused her blood to boil.

"I guess you really weren't his type after all" Luci chuckled.

"He toyed with my feelings, used me for his own gain, never saw me as anything other than a tool." she said with an angry tone.

"What would you have me do about it?" Luci asked whispering into her ears softly.

"I want him to suffer painfully and slowly, I want him to beg for death only to know that death would not heed his plea. I want his hope to be ignited and then crushed right before his eyes, like he did mine. I want him to know the meaning of hell while still living a miserable life" she screamed in sorrow and pain, tears dripping from her eyes with every word she spoke.

"Your wish is my command" Luci said snapping his finger.

Bola boarded the Uber Taxi he had requested, leaving Chioma behind as she walked down the pavement. Suddenly a chemical holding trailer labelled P-Acids over sped and came in collision with the Taxi spilling all its contents into the passenger's seat and unto Bola, who in turn shouted in pain. The passing citizens immediately rushed in to his aid.

"Bola!" Chioma screamed racing back to the scene as they carried his body to the hospital.

"I didn't ask for a quick death!" Mayowa yelled furious.

"He isn't dead now, is he?" Luci said smirking.

"Ouch! Why am I here?" Mayowa's mother asked waking from her short term coma, startling Mayowa.

"Mommy!" Mayowa yelled leaping with joy as she raced to hug her mother.

"Get away from me you demon!" She screamed, fear written all over her face like she had actually seen the devil.

Shocked by her words, Mayowa leaned backwards in fear that her mother had overheard her, "Mom it's me your daughter, Mayowa".

"You are not my daughter, get behind me Satan!" she yelled slowly losing consciousness but not before waking her husband from his slumber.

"Honey, what is it?" her husband asked confused but words refused to come out of her mouth, in seconds she had drifted off to sleep.
