Two minutes is all it takes... Chapter six

New apartment

'Knock! Knock! Knock!' sounded the door as Sopuruchi banged at it with her knuckles.

"Are you sure this is the right apartment?" Chidalu asked.

"Coming!" Leo called out from the kitchen.

"I guess it is" Sopuruchi answered.

'Click! Click!' sounded the lock being opened by Leo on the other side. In minutes the door slid open with Leo on the other side and a wide grin on his face.

"Aren't you gonna ask us in again?" Sopuruchi asked.

"I was just going to do that" Leo answered with a frown, he opened the door wider to let them in.

Sopuruchi and Chidalu both waltz into the apartment like stray cats, absorbing the beauty of the expert interior design. The design of the 3D wallpapers made the apartment into a new universe outside the one they were in. The black leather couches and arm chairs were set around the thirty two inches plasma TV, which had a painted fireplace underneath it, giving the room a warm pleasant homely feeling. The air conditioner quickly took away the effects of the heat of the Nigerian summer sun, bringing winter with every second, the vapor from their breath began to become visible as they exhaled.

"Do you like it?" Leo asked interrupting their absorption session.

"Like it? Are you insane? When you told me you moved out, I didn't think you moved into heaven" she said hopping on the couch.

"Hey! I just bought those" he yelled.

"This is awesome" she said laying straight on the couch with a cushion in her arms, "Chichi, come and check it out!".

Chidalu dropped her purse on the glass table and sat on the leather arm chair facing directly opposite the television.

"That's my man chair" Leo said.

"Does it matter?" Sopuruchi asked with blood lust in her eyes.

"No it doesn't" Leo said lowering his head, not wanting to incur her wrath.

"Good, now we can come around anytime and everyday right?" she asked squeezing the cushion tighter with her hands.

"I wish you wouldn't" Leo muttered to himself.

"What did you just say?" she asked glaring at him.

"I said you can!" he answered.

"By the way I'm curious, how did you get so much money from just one release? Don't get me wrong what I'm saying is that lots of musicians don't even get famous from their fifth track not to talk about their first" Chidalu said.

"Yeah that's true" Sopuruchi said.

"Well I guess I was lucky" Leo said shoving his hand in his pocket, he began caressing the Yin Yang ball that grew warmer in his pocket and as he did, it began to glow.

"What's that?" Sopuruchi asked noticing his fidgeting with his pocket and the glow that faded as soon as it came.

"It's nothing" Leo lied.

"You know I can tell when you lie right?" she asked.

"Alright, it's just a pair of Yin Yang balls I found the other day" he said bringing out the still glowing and fading ball.

Sopuruchi's eyes brightened up at the sight of them, "Wow! I always wanted one of those ever since I saw them in a movie I watched" she said leaning in to take the balls, "and they glow too, give it to me!".

"No way, it's mine!" Leo yelled.

"But I want it" she said and began whining like a baby.

"I'll get you another one" he said.

Hearing this made her calm down, "I want mine in pink, and I want it to glow like yours too".

"Okay, I've heard you" he said shoving the balls back into his pocket.

"Oh! I also need one more thing" she said.

"What is it this time?".

"It's nothing much, we just need some cash for a project" she lied.

"And how much do you need?" he asked.

"About fifteen thousand naira" she answered.

"What!?" he yelled.

"Each" she added.

"So now I'm Santa Claus" he said.
