Two minutes is all it takes... Chapter nine

The establishment, Couple's Moonlight restaurant, was one of high class which aimed at meeting the peek of their customer's desires and satisfactions. On this wonderful night, its task was to meet the desires of both Leo and Chidalu on their date. The doorman opened the door with a warm smile on his face as was his duty, letting in both individuals. Leo had been specially dressed in an all white jeans, brown T-shirt and a Nike footwear, Chidalu on the other hand went with a black skin-tight mini-gown which showcased her massively enticing features and a pair of sneakers. Leo had specially picked out her outfit earlier that day at the mall, right before asking her to dinner.

"Welcome to our wonderful establishment" a young man said with a grin on his face as his eyes feasted on Chidalu, he was dressed in the same uniform as most of the visible workers, a white T-shirt tucked in carefully into his blue pants and a blue jacket. "Your reservation?" he asked pulling out a tablet from nowhere.

"Oh yeah! It's under Ezechukwu Leonard" Leo said recovering from the trick he just saw the attendant pull off.

"Mr Ezechukwu Leonard" the attendant said scrolling down the list he had on the tablet. After a few minutes, he shook his head twice and said "I'm sorry sir, there are no reservations under that name".

"Are you sure you checked it well?" Leo asked.

"Yes sir, twice and still no name like that on my list" he answered.

"Really?" he said rubbing his head as if scratching an itch that had long been pestering him, "What about Elf?".

"Mr Elf" the attendant said scrolling once more through his tablet, "yes there is a Mr Elf".

"I guess my assistant must have used that instead" Leo said smirking.

"Well sir I would need some identifications please" the attendant said.

"What for?" Chidalu yelled having grown impatient from standing at that spot with all eyes on them for a while.

Another attendant who seemed to be the senior arrived at the scene to see what the commotion was about. "What's going on her.." he stopped himself on seeing Leo, his lips parted way and mouth widened as he yelled with bliss in his eyes, "Mr Elf!".

"That's me" Leo said smiling victoriously for being recognized.

"I'm your biggest fan Sir, please let's take a selfie" he said holding out his apple device for a photo. This made the other customers have an even more keen interest in them.

A female customer abruptly rose from her seat, flipping over her chair "Oh my God! It's the Elf!" she yelled awakening the spirits of the rest of the fans in the restaurant, this happened to be everyone in the restaurant.

"Please take a picture with me" a man yelled making his way towards Leo and Chidalu.

"Can I have an autograph?" another yelled holding out a napkin belonging to the restaurant.

"Please I want to be your girl for life" a middle aged woman yelled.

"Leo?" Chidalu said frightened by the violence, she reached for his arm and wrapped hers around it.

"There goes dinner for us I guess, let's scram before they tear us to pieces" he said pointing at the approaching hoard possessed by an unknown violent and bloodthirsty spirit.

"Best idea I have ever heard in my entire life" Chidalu said as they made their way to the door they came in from.

Leo pulled out his phone and dialled his driver's number, "Femi come and pick us up now and be quick our lives depend on it". He hung up the call and just as he did, he began feeling and unusual warmth in his back pocket. He reached in to see what it was and shocked to see the Yin Yang ball glowing brighter and also getting hotter.

"Ouch, I thought I left this at home" Leo said shoving it back into his pocket.

"What's wrong?" Chidalu asked

"It's nothing" he lied.

"Are you sure?".

The car sped out of the garage and straight for them, only stopping a few inches away as Femi pushed the breaks.

"Are you really asking me that right now, get in" he said opening the backseat door, the doors of the restaurant swung open as the hoard drew closer to them trampling over one another while fighting one another over the right to talk to Leo first.

"His mine" a lady yelled punching a man twice her size.

"Keep dreaming" a man with a bleeding nose said right before shoving her from behind.

"Get out of my way" the senior attendant yelled making his way out of the hoard.

Leo saw that he wouldn't make it in time, he pulled off his Nike shoes and tossed it into the hoard. This halted their movement as they all began concentrating on the shoes, fighting one another more violently than before. Some resulted to clawing, biting and even kicking.

"It belongs to me!".

"What is wrong with these people?" Chidalu asked disgusted by their actions.

"Let's not wait to find out" Leo said entering into the car.

"Where to Sir?" Femi asked.

"Just go anywhere that is far away from here" Leo yelled.

"Alright Sir" Femi answered and began to drive away.

Leo turned his eyes back to the crowd once more, watching them fight over a pair of shoes was frightening even for him. He rubbed his back pocket as the heat he once felt so much had now cooled off.

"Did you leave something behind?" Chidalu asked noticing his hand in his pocket.

"No not really, let's just not talk about it right now" Leo said changing the topic.
